About this blog

What is this blog about?

This blog is where I share my thoughts on anime I watch. I am no critics or even a good writer but when I finish watching an anime, I always have some ideas about it and this personal review blog is a perfect place to share them. You may also notice that I sporadically write editorial posts. Well, I think limiting myself to only write reviews is not good. In short, I write editorial post whenever I am inspired.

Why are the reviews published so randomly?

Because I simply watch them in random order. I have quite a large number of anime in my possession right now, old and new. I usually watch two or three anime simultaneously. At least one of which will be lighter in tone like drama or comedy and one of which usually is an older anime that I have not seen. When I finish one series, I will write a review and publish it. How do I choose which anime to watch first? I don’t know. It depends on my mood, probably.

Exactly, how often do you update this blog?

After more than four years of blogging anime reviews and considering my current schedule, publishing new review every 3 to 4 weeks seems to be the best choice for me right now. At this rate, even if my schedule gets tighter, I’ll be able to keep this blog regularly updated.

Why don’t you write a review for individual anime episode instead of writing one review for the whole series?

For anime series, a single episode cannot represent a whole series and more than often I do not see anything that is worth writing about in one episode especially in cases of anime with really slow pace or the anime with repetitive storytelling pattern. But ultimately, the reason I do not write a review for individual episode is because I do not have the time. Things may change in the future, who knows?

I read the older posts of your blog and they look kind of…weird. What happened?

My earlier reviews (the ones published back in 2007 or early 2008) are not so satisfying, I must admit. I was younger then and was really new to writing reviews. Plus, I’m not from an English speaking region. That should explain things. The thought about rewriting the older post crosses my mind several times but I decide not to do it because my memory about those older anime has faded significantly and I won’t do them justice by reviewing them without re-watching them first. Nevertheless, I’m not saying that I’m a really good writer right now because I’m not. I know I still have a lot to learn. So any kind of comments from readers are more than welcomed.

About the author

Who are you?

Nothing unusual, I am a die-hard anime fan and although my schedule is often extremely tight, I can still find the time to watch the anime I love. They are my escape. If you want to know what kind of person I am, just check out those anime that I especially love. In real life, I have an academic position in the field of health science but I would rather not go into the specifics.

What are your favorite anime?

My favorite anime are those with A+ rating. There are also few others that I have not review them yet. Spirited Away is one of them.
